Rebecca has brought important stories of 2SLGBTQIA+ history, activism, and community to schools, libraries, community centres, churches, businesses, literary festivals, Pride celebrations and more. She can bring them to you too! If you’re a teacher or librarian in a Nova Scotian school and want Rebecca to talk to your class, you can hire Rebecca through the cost sharing program Writers in Schools (WITS). Run by the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia, WITS brings authors into elementary and secondary schools to “provide presentations, workshops, and readings for students”. As the author of Before the Parade Rebecca brings her unique understanding of Halifax’s gay history to her educational and entertaining queer history tours. Learn about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer spaces, people, and events that shaped Halifax and this province as a whole. You’ll probably have a laugh (or two) too!
